It always amazes me how many vacation rental property owners are not taking advantage of Google Local Listings. It’s fast, free, and provides an incredible opportunity for you to rank for your top keywords. So, here’s an example. The vacation rentals listed on the left side of the page are all receiving free advertising from Google every time someone searches for “Vacation Rentals in San Francisco.” Think about that…. Targeted customers that are looking for your property, and you don’t have to pay a dime to get your name there. This is such a powerful lead generator, that it amazes me how many vacation rental owners know little or nothing about it.

If you haven’t listed, just follow these simple steps. If you have, make sure your pictures and video are up to date!
The process is as simple as filling out a form. Let’s start with Google Local. You can either do a search for that topic, or go right to Google Local.
You can either use an existing Google account if you have one, or just create a new account on their main screen. Once you account is activated, it is as simple as filling the form in the screen. Once you complete this simple process:
- Your property will be listed on Google maps
- Your property will be added to category you specify
- You can create an interactive Google map that can be added to your website
- You can add up to 10 pictures of your property (make sure you take advantage of the opportunity to add keyword rich captions as well!)
- You can add a You Tube Video
Wow, it really is that simple!
